After it come 90 lines for birds added later, a numbered life list of 200, a page for each of the 12 months with one of the state's birds drawn on it and a week-by-week tally, and 84 pages of daily entries, 168 in all, each with the hours watched, the weather and a count of every bird. A page to map the yard, 24 sketch frames and 3 pages for notes finish the book. It is a full-color paperback, 8.5 by 11 inches, printed to order. The illustrations were made with AI tools, and each one was checked against its species' field marks before printing.
