The cover shows the Black-capped Chickadee, Massachusetts's state bird, and the Trailing Arbutus, its state flower. Eight activity pages and a Nature Explorer certificate round out the year. It is a full-color paperback, 8.5 by 11 inches, printed to order. The illustrations were made with AI tools, and each was checked against its species' field or botanical marks before printing.
