About it
What you get
Of the 236 hunts, 91 are about birds, 33 about flowers and 29 about trees, and the rest are about butterflies, the sky, the garden and the market. Each week's page has a bird or flower from the state's list drawn on it and a box to draw the best find, and 4 season pages carry an explorer badge to color. The cover shows the Rhode Island Red, Rhode Island's state bird, and the Common Blue Violet, its state flower. Eight activity pages, from a nature map to four journal pages, and a Nature Explorer certificate round out the year. It is a full-color paperback, 8.5 by 11 inches, printed to order. The illustrations were made with AI tools, and each was checked against its species' field or botanical marks before printing.
